What is climate misinformation and what can we do to counter it?
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on governments to ban fossil fuel advertising and warned creative agencies to stop working for the fossil fuel industry.
Guterres' advice was based on research and investigations into how fossil fuel advertising, sponsorships and PR-activities have been used to obstruct and delay climate action, control the climate debate and mislead the public, politicians and stakeholders.
Klimakultur has invited an expert panel to discuss which role the marketing, advertising and PR industries play in building and maintaining the social license of the fossil fuel industry.
What can we do to secure open and well informed climate conversations - and how does the Norwegian debate about climate misinformation relate to the conversations being had internationally?
This session will be in English.
